Strategic Framework

As a natural person, AFJD is the permanent holder of all protection rights as well as the initiator of the GCBoK. The IP remains with AFJD - the GCC is made available for use on a contractual basis (no transfer of ownership).

Objective A - Defense against patent trolls and takeover attempts

The IP remains with AFJD and cannot be acquired through a corporate takeover of the GCC. Standardization via GCBoK (OSS, non-profit) creates a broad basis of use that makes subsequent monopolization by third parties economically pointless.

Objective B - Community building with value creation participation

The GCC, the community and commercial exploitation partners receive usage rights to the IP on the same contractual basis - without the GCC itself having to act as licensor.

See also: The non-profit sponsorship of the GCC is documented on the GCC landing page.
